This particular page will primarily be given to providing information and websites that will be useful to the missionary in order to assist him or her in maintaining their health while abroad.
One aspect of the ministry, which God has given me, involves Medical Missions and Missionary Health and Wellness.
MEDICAL MISSIONS
Part of the work, which God has led me into, is that of medical missions. I am very happy that God has allowed me to be a Family Nurse Practitioner. This knowledge and skill has put me in touch with so many different kinds of people over the years. God has used this ability in many ways, allowing me to be a blessing, and a witness, to people.
I am particularly interested in helping missionaries and the people they serve. I have been on a number of large-scale medical mission trips to third world countries, and I thank God for the people who get help through these kinds of efforts. I feel, however, that there is a better way to help people than by just going down and "throwing" medicines at them. What makes just as much (if not more) sense is to follow the age-old maxim (Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime).
A better way to approach medical missions is to go to certain mission fields and gather a handful of interested native peoples together and teach them some of the basics of health maintenance and disease prevention particular to their situation. The effects of even some basic teaching like this could be profound. These people could then teach their own, using their knowledge as a witnessing tool. These interested persons could be taught new things each year (maybe several times per year). This kind of teaching could occur in the morning hours, and in the evenings one could hold a revival meeting, mission’s conference, or an evangelistic campaign. If this is something that is interesting to you, please contact me. We will explore the possibilities together. This type of approach could also be combined with the larger aforementioned medicine distribution efforts.
MISSIONARY HEALTH AND WELLNESS
I am also interested in and involved with Missionary Health and Wellness. I find great satisfaction in teaching missionaries how to maintain their health (and the health of their family) while on the mission field. I have multiple courses prepared on health and wellness issues, including Power Point presentations, which are ready to be taught in Bible Institutes, Christian Colleges, Seminaries, and Mission Board Training Institutes.
Some of the courses I am prepared to teach are:
1. Introduction To Missionary Health and Wellness
2. Good Nutrition Lineup
3. Achieving A Healthy Lifestyle
4. Malaria Prophylaxis
5. Fast Food Follies
6. Stress
7. On Being Angry With God
8. Sanitation and Hygiene
9. Weight Loss
10. Taking Pleasure In The Hard Times
11. Water Purification
12. Exercise
13. Staying Healthy On the Deputation Trail
14. Etc, Etc.
Some of these lessons could also be adapted for church meetings as well, under the heading of Personal Health Stewardship. Again, please let me know if this interests you and we can work out the details.

Please click on the link below to listen to one of my health lectures. I gave this particular lecture at a church in East Tenessee. The pastor appreciated it so much that he wants me to come back every year. I wish I had time to tell you the tremendous difference that has been made in his life since really getting hold of the idea that our bodies are truly the Temples of the Holy Ghost. This pastor has made remarkable changes in his lifestyle that are impacting his life both personally, domestically, as well as spiritually.
